As noted by Law.com International, Perkins Coie will now be calling it quits in Beijing, after closing up shop in Shanghai in March. The firm offered the following statement on the closure of its Beijing office:
“We remain committed to our presence in Asia and look forward to continuing to advise many high-tech companies and entrepreneurs across Asia. With a strategic focus on the major technology hub of Shenzhen, we are aligning our presence and work in China more closely to our clients’ evolving needs and our long-term growth strategy.”
Perkins Coie has applied to open an office in Shenzhen, and hopes to receive approval in early 2025. In the wake of its most recent closure, the firm is left with just one office within the region, in Taipei.
